Event:
The GE Canary Wharf Triathlon is a Super-Sprint Eliminator race. There will be 2 heats for men and women with faster finishers progressing to the finals. There will also be a corporate wave for employees of Canary Wharf based companies.

This race format is fast and furious with each racing lasting just 30 minutes. The multi-lap course offers fantastic specatator viewing throughout the swim, run and bike sections. But rest assured, this is not an easy race. Competitors will be going all out to ensure they qualify for the final, pushing themselves to the limits. And whilst this may be a flat course the wind tunnels created on this closed circuit course will challenge all!

The Distances

Super Sprint: 400m swim, 10km cycle and 2km run

Elite Race format

Athletes compete in heats through which they qualify for the final. Each heat has 25 athletes, the first 8 athletes across the finish line qualify for the final automatically, with the four fastest losers from the two heats combined also qualifying. There will be 20 athletes in the final.

2012 Corporate Wave Format

Teams of three will compete in a relay over the same course as the elite athletes. Entries are exclusivley for Canary Wharf Tenants, who will be treated to the full elite athlete experience.
